The Agricultural Information Center has made available as many of its programs and services as possible to the general public. The majority of the products and services on this page have unrestricted access, meaning you can use them without any sort of registration process or cost. Click on a link to visit a particular site.

    Provides weather and other climatological data for the state.

    General Information on Agriculture.
  • AgNIC
    AgNIC is a guide to quality agricultural information on the Internet as selected by the National Agricultural Library, Land-Grant Universities, and other institutions.
  • AGRIS
    Database from the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations. Includes international agricultural research information. Extremely useful source of data on African and Asian countries.
  • CRIS (USDA Current Research)
    U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) documentation and reporting system for ongoing and recently completed research projects in agriculture, food and nutrition, and forestry.
  • Digital Dissertations
    Dissertations and theses from institutions in North America and Europe.
  • Extension Publications
    Searches University of Kentucky Extension Publications available full text.

  • FirstGov
    Consolidates 20,000 government web sites into one. It provides the capability of searching for specific subjects as well as going to federal and state agencies.
  • GPO Access
    US Government Printing Office official web site. Includes a variety of documents from the legislative, executive, and judical branches, plus additional US government-related content.
  • InfoKat
    UK Libraries' Online Catalog
    . Includes books, journals, government documents and media materials owned by the University of Kentucky.
  • ingenta
    The general public access point to the ingenta web site. Lists articles from thousands of journals ("uncover plus" covers 20,000 journals back to 1988; "online article" covers 4,500 back to 1997). Patron is responsible for purchase of full text articles downloaded using this link.
  • KYVL (Kentucky Virtual Library)
    Provides 50 databases, sources, and library catalogs. Selected databases restricted to Kentucky residents. ID and password available from your local public library.
  • ToxNet
    The Toxicology Data Network is actually a cluster of databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, and related areas.
