The Agribusiness Club was originally started to stimulate interest in Agricultural Economics among students within UK's College of Agriculture. It now invites all students with agricultural majors to learn more about their roles in agribusiness fields.
Mission
The purpose of the Club is to promote beneficial relationships between members of the club and firms in the agribusiness community, and to promote the interchange of ideas between students and faculty.
Membership
The Agribusiness Club is composed of undergraduate students in the College of Agriculture. Associate membership in the organization is available to graduate students, personnel of teaching, research, and extension staff within the Ag College. Active membership dues are $7 per semester or $10 for all year. Membership is open to all College of Agriculture students.

Fall Picnic
The annual fall picnic is a gathering of old and new Agribusiness Club members, College of Ag faculty, and affiliate members. It is an important component of the recruitment process.
Monthly Meetings
Each month the Club holds a meeting. At the meeting, free pizza is available and the Club hosts a guest speaker. Guest speakers are typically from a local agribusiness or from the University of Kentucky and offer career and personal development opportunities. Many speakers not only graduated from the U.K. College of Agriculture, but are also responsible in helping to recruit new employees for their company. Therefore, every meeting turns into a networking opportunity for Agribusiness Club members.
Trips
The Club takes an In-State and Out-of-State trip each year to learn about different aspects of the agricultural industry and to have fun. Out-of-State trips have included Florida, St. Louis, Chicago, New Orleans and North Carolina. In-State trips have included Ale-8, Philip-Morris, Colorpoint Greenhouses, Makers Mark, Kentucky's Best, Griffin Industries, Link-Belt, and Hallway Feeds. Many of the businesses that the club visits employ U.K. College of Ag alumni and past Agribusiness Club members.
Income Tax Preparer Seminars Mailing Project
This is the Club's major fund raising project. Students can pay for their out of state trip by working on mailings for Tax Preparer Seminars. Simply by stuffing envelopes and preparing the mailings, we help a large Extension project reach thousands of people. In the process, we usually get pizza and make a party out of our work.
