August 15 to 24, 2008
Birdhouses may be ready-made and embellished with personal touches, or hand made to be completely unique and original. Ribbons will be awarded this year for the Best Student Birdhouse (age 10 and under) and Visitors Favorite Birdhouse.
The birdhouses are displayed outdoors in The Arboretum’s gardens, so they must be rain and weatherproof. They should be ready to hang on a hook or mount on a plate with screws (the plates are approximately 2” x 4”). Birdhouses that weigh more than 10 pounds, or with a base larger than 16” x 16”, can't be installed on our poles.
You may donate your birdhouse to the silent auction or reclaim it on August 24. All funds raised will be used for the Kentucky Children's Garden. The auction will end at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 24.
Note: We try to safeguard all birdhouses, but The Arboretum is not responsible for loss or damage.
