Why join Gamma Sigma Delta?Membership in an honor society is a permanent entry on your record, indicating to graduate schools, employers, and colleagues that your peers recognize you as capable of exceptional academic or professional performance.As a member of Gamma Sigma Delta, you have the opportunity to give back to the field in which you earn your livelihood by helping to select and honor outstanding students and members of the profession for awards. By nominating someone for an award, for example, you can show the value you place on worthy achievements in agriculture. By serving on the committee to select the Distinguished Lecturer, you can advance the level of discussion on campus about agricultural issues. Students can discuss the benefits of joining with their Director of Undergraduate Studies or Director of Graduate Studies. Faculty, staff, and Extension professionals can talk to an officer or their department representative about the nomination process. Your support-through dues and service-helps us continue our award-winning programs as well as begin new activities. Who is eligible to join Gamma Sigma Delta?Membership in the Kentucky Chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta is by invitation, and new members are asked to join in the early spring. Members are selected on the basis of their high moral character as well as the following criteria:
Can I transfer my membership in Gamma Sigma Delta from another chapter?If you were inititated in another chapter, you can transfer your membership to the Kentucky Chapter simply by paying local dues. $15 and the Dues Notice can be directed to:David Freshwater, GSD Treasurer 407 C.E.
