John A. Morris Library at the Gluck Equine Research Center
|
History
The Morris Library was established in 1987, the result of
a generous gift from John A. Morris and family. Mr. Morris
was a Thoroughbred owner and breeder. When initially established,
the Morris Library had one computer terminal, two databases
on CD-ROM and a small print collection. Since that time,
the Library’s access to electronic resources has grown exponentially.
The Morris Library was one of the first primarily electronic
information centers in the nation and remains the only one
dedicated to the horse and veterinary medicine.
Mission
The Morris Library provides equine health-related information
in support of the research conducted at the Gluck Equine
Research Center. The Library also serves as an equine information
resource to the general public, horse owners, veterinarians,
and researchers around the world.
Location & Hours
The Morris Library is located on the second floor of the
Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research
Center. It is open to the
public, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Library’s materials are non-circulating.
