Dr. Jackson has conducted research in the areas of cross-cultural consumer behavior, and rural retail development. Her research has examined the decision making styles of Korean and American consumers, and factors that influence gift giving of the two cultures. She is collaborating with faculty at The Ohio State University, and is part of a consortium working to conduct research that would help improve small business development in rural communities.
Dr. Jackson has traveled extensively in Europe and Asia working to enhance her classroom teaching and research interest. She has developed and published an instructor’s guide for the International Retailing book written by Brenda Sternquist of Michigan State University. She has also written and published articles in the Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, International Journal of Human Ecology, and the Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences.
As a strong advocate for outreach, Dr. Jackson works with Extension Agents to promote small business development and consumer job professionalism through dress and interview skills.
