Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles (MAT) Club

Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles (MAT) club is an organization for MAT majors. MAT club provides excellent opportunities for members to participate in study tours, store visits, fundraising, and community service. MAT majors can advance their professional career by networking through the club. It provides an avenue to associate with peers, alumni, and business leaders in our community and surrounding areas.

MAT Club invites successful MAT interns, alumni, local business owners, retail store managers, visual merchandisers, designers, and career consultants to speak at our monthly meetings. Various activities such as the T-shirt sales at the University football games, the Halloween bake sale aid raising funds for the store/study tours. In spring, we visit the Americas Mart in Atlanta, which is the apparel and accessories trade fair. This is a great opportunity to make connections and network with certain vendors. MAT Club members have secured job opportunities by such visits.

MAT club members meet the second Wednesday of the month in 304 Erikson Hall. For more information contact the club president, Madison Stephens or the MAT club advisor, Scarlett Wesley at scarlett.wesley@uky.edu.
