The 2004 Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Practical Techniques for Nursery Crops Programs will be held in Elizabethtown on May 26, 2004 and in Murray on August 3, 2004. Thanks to Kentucky IPM funding, the program will feature experts from Kentucky and beyond, all with nationally recognized expertise. IPM provides techniques that base spray decisions on insect population levels and on weather conditions necessary for disease development, rather than guesswork. This on-location program specializes in the application of IPM techniques such as resistant plants, scouting, nutrition monitoring, and economic thresholds. Featuring an IPM team with decades of experience, nursery producers and tree and shrubs care providers will acquire practical skills and knowledge that can be put in to use in their horticulture business.
