Lespedeza thunbergii 'Gibraltar’

Lespedeza thunbergii 'Gibraltar’ - Gibraltar Bush Clover is a beautiful shrub because of its dark green foliage and fine pink-purple pea shaped flowers in long arching racemes 6 inches long.  The overall effect makes this plant good as a specimen or in a mass planting or border. It blooms August to September in a spectacular show. In PlantDelights.com Tony Avent writes: "Found at the old Gibraltar estate in Wilmington, Delaware, this spectacular lespedeza was selected and named by plantsman Bill Frederick." Bill Frederick, is a noted landscape architect and author of the The Exuberant Garden and 100 Great Plants who knows a "worthy" plant when he sees it.
