Downloading Graphic Files

Right-clicking

To download files (not just graphic files), right-clicking on the link provided is generally what you'll want to do. Left-clicking will sometimes download a file, but more times than not, it will cause your computer to try and open the file instead.

  1. Hover over the link to the file that you want, and right-click on it.
  2. In IE5 you'll get the flyout menu at the right.
  3. Choose "Save Target As...".
  4. You should then get the "Save As" dialog box below. Save the file to your computer.

Save As

Downloading EPS files (UKPR has instructed us to remove eps files as of August 2008.)

When you "Save Target As" on some computers, the Save procedure (above) wants to change the filename extension from EPS to PS. It didn't do that in the above example, but on some computers it will.

If the filename suggested in the Save on your computer is UKSig1.ps (for example), change the extension back to EPS. None of your programs will recognize the PS extension as belonging to a usable file.

So just make sure the file you save to your computer has the ".EPS" at the end of the filename (like the one above), and everything should be ok.
