Select any weekday when you would like to visit and call the Student Services office at 859-257-3469. We will make appointment for you with College representatives, faculty, and current students while providing you a tour of our College.

The University of Kentucky offers the only comprehensive agricultural program in the state of Kentucky. As a land-grant institution, dedicated to teaching, research, and outreach, you will earn a degree from one of the most prestigious agricultural programs in the country. All of your professors hold doctoral or terminal degrees in their area of specialty. This increases the quality and specialization areas in the College of Agriculture.

There are approximately 2000 students in the College of Agriculture. Our small size allows us to provide more personalized attention. Our student to faculty ratio is 10:1 and our faculty members maintain an open-door policy. The average class size in the College of Agriculture is 20-25 students. Many upper level classes are much smaller that 25 students, although introductory courses in many of our programs will have larger enrollments of 50 to 100 or more..
Can
I work while taking classes at UK? How can I find a part-time job?

Yes. In fact, there are approximately 250 part time jobs available in the College of Agriculture alone. These jobs are in labs, offices, and at the research farms. In addition, there are numerous other jobs available on campus. The advantage of working on campus is that you can fit your work schedule around your class schedule. Because of the transition from high school to college and the additional studying necessary to succeed in college, freshmen should try not to work more than 10-15 hours a week in their first semester and preferably year.

about parking. As a freshmen where will I park?

Freshmen (along with most undergraduate students) will park in the "K" lots next to Commonwealth Stadium.
Do
I have to live on campus as a freshmen?

No. But, it is highly recommended. Living on campus helps you to meet new people and become involved in campus activities. Studies have shown that students who live on campus are more likely to succeed in college.
If
I am going to be in the College of Agriculture, what dorm should I live
in?

The College of Agriculture is on the South end of campus, so most of our students choose to live in South Campus dorms to minimize walking. This would include the Kirwan-Blanding complex, Smith, Baldwin and Ingles Halls, as well as Donovan Hall and Haggin Hall. (Students in the Honors Program may live on North Campus and the bus system will aid in transportation.)
