UK Logos
including CES logos
Although UK logos are technically called "signatures,"
we use the words logo/signature pretty much interchangably. So if
you read or hear the word "signature" you know that what's
being referred to is some variation of a UK logo. There are three
different signatures for each unit in the college.
The UK Official Graphic Standards
Manual states: "The UK Logo is a registered trademark and may
not be altered. To ensure that all uses of the official
Logo will be consistent in quality, do not attempt to recreate or
manipulate it in any way."
Using UK/CES Logos with Other Graphics
When developing program identifiers to use on shirts, publications
or other work, you need to distinquish between the UK/CES logo signatures
and other graphic elements. Avoid creating other "logos"
that contain the UK logo in it. You can place the UK logo on the
work in a separate location than other graphics. The "UK"
and the words "UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY" must stay together
as one logo, since it is currently considered a complete part of
the trademark. Suggestions are to use the UK logo/signature on the
sleeve or back of a shirt, and top or bottom of a publication.
