ENTREPRENEUR ROUNDTABLE...They
are called risk-takers but what
they really are entrepreneurs,
people who had idea for a small
business and took a leap of
faith, hoping it would succeed.
Would-be entrepreneurs had the
chance to talk with
entrepreneurs who have already
taken the plunge at an
Entrepreneur's Roundtable in
eastern Kentucky recently.

FALL IN FLEMING...An idea
to promote tourism for the fall season in Fleming County started a
few years ago with the Great Scarecrow Roundup where businesses,
churches, and even home-owners displayed
scarecrows as part of a contest. That idea was taken a step further
this year with something called Barns, Bridges and Banners with the
scarecrows still very much a part of that. Fleming County is called
the Covered Bridge Capital of Kentucky with three covered bridges
still remaining in the county. |

KENTUCKY QUILT TRAIL...It
is growing all across Kentucky as you criss cross the state.
Quilt patterns displayed on barns and buildings as part of the
rural landscape. Find out how it all got started in Kentucky
and visit a workshop where people are learning more about making
the quilt displays.

UK OPERA THEATRE PROGRAM...it's
becoming a national powerhouse thanks in part to a $1 million dollar
gift. Find out more about UK's Opera Theatre and its statewide
outreach program which is taking the arts
to
schools all across Kentucky. |

BASKETBALL...It's
the dawn of a new era for Kentucky basketball this season for both
the men's and women's programs. We will get a preview of the
upcoming season. |

4-H
SKATEBOARD CLUB...A
new 4-H skateboard club is changing people's perceptions in Bath
County about young people who hang out at a local skateboarding
spot. But since the 4-H skateboard club was formed this spring, a
more positive image has emerged. |
