North Central 4-H Camp, (map) is located in Carlisle, KY. on 350 acres of rolling hills and forested land near Lake Carnico. North Central serves 34 counties and can accommodate 356 campers and counselors in its heated cabins and bath houses plus 24 in the outpost for primitive camping. The camp offers a modern, heated dining hall; shelter house; heated and cooled multipurpose building; restored, historic log cabin, country store for souvenirs and snacks and swimming pool with diving board. Program facilities include rifle and archery ranges, bird blind for nature classes, observation bee hive, low ropes challenge course, basketball, volleyball and athletic field. The six acre lake offers opportunities for fishing, canoeing, pond studies and hiking in nature classes. The shelter house and the lakeside campfire area are perfect for evening programs and special events.
