4-H LAND JUDGING
DESCRIPTION
The State 4-H Land Judging Event at the state fair is conducted by David Ditsch, Lloyd Murdock, Monroe Rasnake, and Bill Thom.
The following change in the procedure to determine the State 4-H Land Judging winning team became effective for the 2000 event.
The winning county in the senior division will be the county with the highest four member score. This change eliminates the need for coaches/leaders to pre-select which four members on their county team will compete for the State title. Subsequently, each student on a county team will have the same opportunity to be one of their county's "four high" and earn a chance to travel to the National Land Judging contest. Members of the winning county team, representing Kentucky in the National Contest, will be from the same county. In other words, the winning county team will be selected based on the "high four" scores from each county. There will be no need to identify your four member team prior to the State Contest. The members of the winning county senior division team will be the students in that county with the four highest scores. No substitutions will be allowed. For further clarification, contact Dr. David Ditsch at (606)666-2438 Extension 231 or dditsch@uky.edu
