BEING ALL YOU CAN BE
DESCRIPTION
The Being All You Can Be project has a two-fold purpose: to increase self-esteem, and to encourage the development of essential life skills among adolescents. The program centers around the use of 10 video vignettes followed by discussion. Each vignette features real teens facing today's concerns.
The notebook includes an introduction, overview of adolescent
development, and segments related to each of the 10 topics of
discussion. Topics include: self responsibility (discussion--teen
pregnancy), self confidence (discussion--quitting school), power of
thought (discussion--turning negative thoughts into positive),
staying centered (discussion--stress relief through relaxation),
health pitfalls (discussion--peer pressure/drugs), increasing
vitality (discussion--involvement in activities), focusing on the
positive (discussion--family relationships), self mastery
(discussion--peer pressure), being a friend (discussion--suicide),
and strong families (discussion--family communication).
