4-H PROJECT DEMONSTRATIONS

NOTE: We are working with Ag Communications to use Online registration in 2006. We will let counties know as soon as we get all details worked out. Counties may register their own youth and follow with a copy of Registration form (optional) and money directly to State 4-H Office by June 1st deadline.

Junior and Senior categories will be added to the state level event.
State event: Saturday July 8, 2006.
Time: All day (Junior & Senior- Registration 9:30 Event: 10:00 a.m. ET
)
Site: White Hall Classroom Building (main campus)
Parking: Free on site
Registration deadline: June 1 , 2006 (Application & fee received at the State 4-H Office)
FEE: $10.00 per person (Please make check payable to: "KY 4-H Foundation, Inc." memo line: Communication)

PLEASE TYPE - FILL IN ALL COLUMNS.
AGENTS: Place an asterisk (*) beside the name of any 4-Her enrolled in both a demonstration category and talk meet. ONLY ONE DEMONSTRATION PER MEMBER; AND NO TEAM ENTRIES. Egg Demonstrations should be entered using form included in the 4-H Poultry section of this guide.

DESCRIPTION
Demonstrations and Illustrated Talks are a tool to help 4-H participants develop poise and self-confidence by providing a practical experience in organizing and presenting information learned in 4-H project work to others. The time limit is 15 minutes for all categories except breads.

AUDIENCE
Junior and Senior 4-Hers, not necessarily enrolled in project area under which the project demonstration would be listed, are eligible. Juniors are eligible to participate at the county and district level. Seniors are eligible to participate at the county and district.

Registration sheets for seniors are due in State 4-H Office by June 1st of current year.
Tentative time frame: Registration (Seniors & Juniors) 9:30 a.m.- 10:00 a.m.

OBJECTIVES: Youth will:
1) Learn and share with others.
2) Develop poise and self-confidence.
3) Develop skill in organizing and presenting information to others.
4) Teach others what they have learned while completing their 4-H projects.
