DESCRIPTION
This program is named in honor of former State 4-H Leader, Mr.
Conrad Feltner to recognize adult and teen volunteer leaders at the
county, area and state levels. It is funded through a special
account managed by Friends of Kentucky 4-H, Inc. from the interest
income generated from gifts earmarked for this purpose when the
program was first established in 1978.
Each county council should set up a committee of teens and adults to decide which participants will represent their county at area. Each county will select one teen and one adult leader to advance to area judging. These applications will then be mailed to the area contact agent for adult leadership. Each area 4-H council will be responsible for appointing a committee to review the nominees, then selecting one teen and one adult to be recognized as the area recipients, thereby receiving invitations to a state-level recognition luncheon. The following is a percentage scale for the judging of all participants:
1. As a 4-H volunteer, most rewarding experiences -- 5%
2. 4-H leadership and personal development -- 5%
3. 4-H leadership roles this year -- 40%
4. Previous 4-H leadership roles -- 25%
5. 4-H leadership roles, area and state -- 15%
6. Leadership roles with other organizations -- 10%
