DISTRICT 4-H MARKET LAMB SHOWS

DESCRIPTION

A series of District Market Lamb Shows are held across the state each year.

OBJECTIVES

1. To provide an opportunity for 4-H sheep members to evaluate their projects in District Competition.

2. To become acquainted with other sheep producers in the state.

3. To provide recognition for outstanding accomplishments in sheep projects.

AUDIENCE

4-H members enrolled in 4-H Market Lamb projects.

DATES

The 4-H District Market Lamb Shows are traditionally held in June, July and August. Nominations of lambs are due to the State Office by May 31.

GENERAL RULES

Set forth in a Rules Book which is published and distributed by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture each year.

AGENT RESPONSIBILITY

1. To certify the proper identification and ownership on Market Lambs entered from the county and to submit the county entries to the State Office by May 31. (Check KUIP rules for 1998)

2. To give assistance at the District Market Lamb shows as needed.

3. To give support and publicity to the lamb exhibitors from the county.

CONTACT AGENT RESPONSIBILITY

1. To coordinate, publicize and assist in the operation of the District Show.
