Become an educated consumer, learn about the meats industry, and participate in the 4-H Meats Judging Contest.  Meat is one food item that we consume on a daily basis.

The 4-H Meats Judging Contest will teach 4-Her’s about how to select meat.  Participants in the meats judging contest will be asked to rank, from best to worst, 4 carcasses, wholesale cuts, and retail meat cuts.  In addition, 4-H members will be asked to identify 30 retail meat cuts from beef, pork, and lamb.  The winners of the contest earn the right to compete in the national contest at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS.
