Spindletop Farm
The Spindletop
Research Farm is located on 2000 acres of prime
farmland just north of the city of Lexington. Agronomic
research conducted at Spindletop is focused on
tobacco, grain crops, forages, and turf. Turf research
plots at Spindletop are shown in the two photographs
above. Spindletop farm also hosts the University
of Kentucky Plant and Soil Sciences Field Day,
when members of the public come to see educational
exhibits, demonstrations, and tours that are developed
by the College.
