The Plant Pathology Department has a strong commitment to serving the needs of the people of Kentucky. Our dedicated group of Extension plant pathologists conducts applied research and works closely with our basic researchers to address diseases that concern local agricultural producers and homeowners.

The mission of Extension Plant Pathology

• To provide research-based educational programs and materials on diseases of crops, landscape plants, and other plants of interest to Kentucky residents;
• To provide plant disease diagnostic support for the education programs of County Extension Agents;
• To develop effective, environmentally responsible options for managing plant diseases of importance in Kentucky;
• To contribute to academic instruction in plant pathology in Kentucky.
