Kentucky News updated as of August 17, 2009

  • Hello Everyone,

  • Below is the current distribution of Soybean Rust (SBR) in the U.S. Since the last update, there have been additional finds in Florida and Mississippi, and Arkansas has picked up some rust as well. In contrast, Texas officials indicated that SBR can no longer be found in that state.

The SBR risk for Kentucky is very low. Even if we found SBR today, it is doubtful that the disease could move fast enough to impact many fields in the state. Bottom line: at least from a SBR perspective, the prognosis is good for the Kentucky soybean crop.
