Kentucky News updated as of
September 18 , 2007
- Hello Everyone,
The most significant change in the national SBR situation that relates to Kentucky, is the significant number of new finds in Arkansas over the past week. The top map shows SBR activity in Arkansas as of Sept 11. The bottom map is the current map as of Sept 18. There have been SBR confirmations in nine additional counties during this one-week period (4 new counties today!). To date, SBR has not been found in Tennessee or Kentucky, but I do expect we will find it soon. However, it is my belief that all soybean fields in Kentucky are past the point where spraying for SBR would be necessary, even if we found SBR today. If we do not have an early frost, we could have a great educational opportunity for Kentuckians to observe SBR first hand later this month or in October (determined by when we find SBR here).
