Soybean Rust Active in 2007

As you can see, soybean rust is now confirmed to be active in three states: Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Most sightings are in kudzu except in Florida where it can also be found in soybean sentinel plots.  For specific information, please consult the state commentary section on the IPM-PIPE soybean rust website (www.sbrusa.net).

Apparently there is a major cold front that is going to move through the country early next week. Perhaps the resulting cold weather will “take out” the currently active soybean rust in most areas. Stay tuned.
