Job Opportunities
Assistant/Associate Professor – Extension. The
University of Kentucky is seeking a tenure-track, full-time
faculty appointee to develop a comprehensive Extension and
applied research program in plant pathology. Principal
commodity responsibilities will likely include pathology
of fruit crops, ornamentals, and forest trees. As part
of a team of Extension plant pathologists, this individual
will develop and implement educational programs pertaining
to plant diseases, provide expertise and technical assistance
on disease problems for plant industries vital to the Commonwealth,
conduct Extension-related, problem-solving research, and
contribute towards departmental instructional responsibilities. Close
liaison with other Extension, research, and teaching professionals
in the College of Agriculture will be required. A Ph.D.
in plant pathology, facility in written and oral communication,
and skill in the use of common computer technologies are
necessary. Expertise in one or more of the commodity
areas listed above is desirable but not essential. Broad
disciplinary training and excellent plant disease diagnostic
capabilities are desired. Appointment at the Associate
Professor level will require demonstration of appropriate
professional accomplishments. Send curriculum vita,
