Even before Dr. Lee T. Todd, Jr. officially took office as
the new president of UK, the Ag Alumni Association began working
to make him feel at home. It welcomed him with a “care
package” filled with Ag-related items; he responded with
a hand-written thank-you note.
To our delight, he also accepted our invitation to Roundup and
took part in a variety of activities, from meeting and greeting
to participating in a quarter-scale tractor pull against Board
of Trustees chair Billy Joe Miles. The two men had a friendly
five-dollar wager riding on the pull, which Miles won; Dr. Todd
made good on the bet!
Another Roundup highlight was Jeff Pendleton’s presentation
to Dr. Todd of a handcrafted wooden box, made at the College’s
Wood Utilization Center and filled with Dr. Todd’s favorite
snack, Snickers candy bars. And Dr. Todd even participated in
the Dairy Clubs’s “Got Milk?” contest.
