The meat on your plate and the wool in your rug? Seeds played a big part in their creation. The petunias spilling from your window box, the maple tree shading your patio, the oil you use to sauté your onions, and yes, your onions, too—all from seeds. That milestone was a long time coming. UK has long been recognized for its equine infectious disease research at the Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Center and its equine nutrition research and horse outreach programs. The College also had an equine specialization option in animal sciences. Several long-term goals were reached in the last year, including the successful completion of our first-ever comprehensive capital campaign and legislative approval for the much-needed expansion of the Livestock Disease Diagnostic Center.
