Production
records
allow a farmer to combine many different records, like the feed,
health and breeding, to determine how well his or her animals
are making money.
A production
record for a dairy cow may look like this:
|
 |
| Cow
number |
Date
born |
Year
|
Milk
produced/Year |
Year |
Milk
produced/Year |
| 45 |
12/5/95 |
2000 |
16,000
pounds |
1997 |
18,000
pounds |
| This information
would show a farmer that cow 45 is not making as much milk this
year has she has in the past. When compared to the rest of the
cows, if cow 45 is making more milk than most of the other ones,
then she is still making money. |
