you may be asking, how do we turn a tree into a chair or
a piece of paper? Well, this a done through a process called
harvesting. Harvesting is the cutting and sawing of the
trees to make them into a usable form. |

The
first step in harvesting is choosing the right size tree.
People from timber companies go through the forest and
measure the trees to make sure they are at least twelve
inches in diameter. The trees that are big enough are
cut down.
The
trees that are not large enough are left in the forest
to grow.
