After the cows are put into the pens, electric milkers are placed on the cow's utter to collect the milk. It takes about about six to eight minutes to milk a cow. Once the milk is collected from the cow, it travels through pipes to a holding tank. This tank is kept very cold to help keep the milk from spoiling.
