Beef Breeds
- Originated in Texas; developed by combining Brahman bulls and Shorthorn and Hereford cattle
- Characteristics:
- some are horned, some are polled
- colors are various with a majority being red or dun
- loose skin on the underline at the navel
- ears are large and droop slightly so that they are at eye level
- Advantages:
- fertility
- milking ability
- range efficient
