- Characteristics:
- large framed
- black and white
- 19,444 lbs of milk per lactation; 3.6% fat
- a mature female weighs 1500 lbs while a newborn calf weighs 95 lbs.
- Holsteins produce the most volume of milk of all dairy breeds.
