Antisense

Antisense is the adjective indicating the DNA strand that is not normally transcribed or the RNA that is complementary to it; the DNA antisense strand is complementary to the DNA "sense" strand that is normally transcribed; an antisense RNA is complementary to the mRNA that is transcribed from the DNA "sense" strand.

To make this a little more understandable, an antisense DNA strand is not transcribed to make mRNA for translation into a protein.
