FallowWhen a field is fallow, it was previously used to grow crops, but is now left idle. This is usually done to let the soil replenish its nutrients for a year. Fallow can also means that a field or land has been plowed but not sown with seed. Fallow can be used also as verb, meaning to remove a field from farming practice.
