Pasteurization

Pasteurization is a food preservation process in which mild heat is applied for a period of time to kill or inactivate disease causing organism. This process does not affect the taste of the food.

Pasteurization is used for such foods as milk, cheese, egg products, beer, fruit juices, canned meats, etc.
