Strangles

Strangles is caused by Streptococcus Equi and is an acute contagious disease of the upper respiratory tract with inflamed lymph nodes between the jaws and abscessed form. Horses will have a thick yellowish nasal discharge. Usually affects horses from 1 to 5 years of age. Not fatal and horse recover fully.
