Tetanus

Tetanus is caused by Clostridium tetani. It is a neurological resulting form deep puncture wounds. A neurotoxin is produced, which travels to the central nervous system. It exact mode of action is unknown but it brings about overreaction to reflex and motor stimuli. Death is by asphyxiation.
