In March 1985 the College of Agriculture created The Scovell Society as an affiliate of the University of Kentucky Fellows Program. This prestigious group recognizes UK Fellows who have given or designated through a planned gift support to a College of Agriculture program.

Erikson Society
Dr. Statie Erikson
Head of the Department of Home Economics 1929-1953
First Director of the School of Home Economics 1953-1956
The Erikson Society was established in 1986 as a memorial to Dr. Statie Estelle Erikson who was best know to her contemporaries as someone who devoted her talents and skills to develop the profession of Home Economics now known as Human Environmental Sciences. Members of the Erikson Society are University of Kentucky Fellows who designated their gifts to the School of Human Environmental Sciences.

In 2005, the Erikson Society merged with the Scovell Society to become the
Scovell & Erikson Society.

Scovell & Erikson Society members receive:

  • A beautifully personalized framed certificate of membership.
  • An invitation to an annual Dean's reception.
  • A free lifetime membership in the Ag & HES Alumni Association.
  • Their name listed on an elegant plaque which hangs outside of the Dean's Office.

A donor who makes a minimum gift of $10,000 to the University must designate at least 50% of their gift to the College of Agriculture to become a Scovell & Erikson Society Member.
