participated in a Public Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology
related issues organized by the Community
Farm Alliance (CFA) at 7 to 9 PM at the Galt House in
Louisville. The featured panelists were Drs. Valerie Askren,
Martha
Crouch, Joe Chappell and Scott Smith, the Dean of the UK
College of Agriculture + Wendell Berry and Dan
McGuire. The forum focused on:

Biotechnology and Risk Analysis
III.
The role of Universities

Eastern Regional Convention October 24 - 26, 2001. BREI will have
five presentations/workshops at the NSTA
convention in Louisville on What
is Agricultural Biotechnology? Some of the Issues with GM
Crops, Social and Economic Aspects of Ag Biotech,
Bioethics,
Biotech Basics and Easy Labs in DNA Science. These were presented by Ric Bessin, Valerie Askren, Lori Garkovich, David
Hildebrand and Joe Chappell.
