Corn Variety Testing

Home

Introduction - Welcome to the Corn Variety Testing, Department of Plant and Soil Sciences

The University of Kentucky Corn Variety Testing Program evaluates Hybrid corn varieties that are commercially available or may soon be available to farmers. Annual variety performance testing provide farmers, seed producers, extension agents and consultants with current, unbiased information to help them select the varieties best adapted to their locality and individual requirements.

Twenty-eight corn variety tests are conducted at seven locations throughout the state under either No-Till or minimum tillage. Ethanol Corns are evaluated at four test sites next to the regular yield trial tests.
