Office of Diversity Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Diversity is to continually foster an environment of inclusion and respect and appreciation of differences. Our efforts will support these goals through action, outreach, and accountability. Our efforts will be guided by the fundamental belief that all people deserve a chance to be successful within our College.
Our Definition of Diversity
“The University of Kentucky maintains firm conviction that it must strengthen the diversity of its community; support free expression reasoned discourse, and diversity of ideas; and take into account a wide range of considerations, including but not limited to ethnicity, race, disability, and sex, when making personnel and policy decisions. The University is committed to periodically evaluating progress made toward diversity and to communicating the results of such evaluations. Based upon these assessments, the University will give diversity factors considerations to ensure achievement of its mission of instruction, research, and service and gain the broadest benefits for the University community."

Our Diversity Team's Bio's
Quentin Tyler
Quentin works as the Extension Associate for Recruitment and Retention for the College Agriculture. He has been in this position since 2004. Prior to joining the Office of Diversity team, Quentin received his Master’s in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky. Currently, Quentin works to promote diversity initiatives within the College of Agriculture by focusing his efforts on recruitment, retention, and climate among students as well as Extension employees.
Ahlishia Shipley
Currently, Ahlishia is pursuing her Ph.D in Family Studies/Human Development with a focus on family public policy issues. She received her undergraduate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and her master’s degree in Career and Technical Education both from the University of Kentucky. She began working in the Office of Diversity in August 2004.
