Groundwater & You
Nearly 50 percent of the people in the United States derive their drinking water from a groundwater source. In rural areas of the country close to 95% of the population use groundwater as their drinking water source. According to the National Ground Water Association, over half of the households in Kentucky use groundwater as their sole source of drinking water. Therefore, it is extremely important for all well owners to understand how to properly maintain their water well and protect their local groundwater supply.
