Position Announcement

Title of Position:  Extension Faculty in Program and Staff Development

Position Description:   This position in Program and Staff Development provides statewide direction for program development, implementation, evaluation; orientation and training of Extension professionals; and reporting and accountability.   More specifically, the person in this position will:

  • Provide leadership in developing Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service’s program planning and evaluation system
  • Consult with specialists, associates and agents in the design of program evaluations and impact measures through the use of Logic Models and Featured Programs
  • Summarize program accomplishment information and provide accountability information to the Extension system, university administration, legislators, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate and refine the CATPAWS reporting system by working with Integrated Media and administration
  • Collect information, prepare and assemble the Plan of Work and Annual Report of Accomplishments for NIFA, USDA in coordination with the UK Agricultural Experiment Station and Kentucky State University Land Grant Programs
  • Develop and conduct training in new Extension professional orientation, core training and in-service training
  • Conduct training in program development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Coordinate training proposals, scheduling, enrollment and recordkeeping of the Extension in-service training program
  • Coordinate Affirmative Action Plans and Reports
  • Conduct county program reviews for purposes of program improvement and civil rights compliance
  • Teach an undergraduate for-credit course on the Cooperative Extension Service

Qualifications:   An earned doctorate in education, sociology, program development, evaluation or similar field, and a minimum of five years of experience in the Cooperative Extension Service. 

Office Location:   University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY

Salary and Benefits:   12-month faculty position, rank open.  Salary open and competitive.  Benefits include health and life insurance, retirement, vacation, and family medical leave.
