Below is more information about each New Agent:
Nanette Banks, Leslie County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, completed a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at Morehead State University. Nanette has worked as a Nutritionist and Environmentalist for the Knott County Health Center and most recently was the Dietary Supervisor for the Hazard Nursing Home.
Brittany Finley began her Extension career in February as the Pulaski County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development. She completed a B.S. in Family & Consumer Science from the University of Kentucky in December of 2004. While a student, Brittany worked as a child care provider. She is a native of Pulaski County.
Amanda Hardy, McLean County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, completed a Bachelor’s in Public Health Education from Western Kentucky University. Since graduation, Amanda worked as a program facilitator for Girls Incorporated and as an Instructional Assistant in Owensboro. She also was responsible for an after school program for children concerning healthy eating.
Betsy Ann Tracy, Warren County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, was first involved in Extension when she was an active 4-H’er in Barren County. Betsy Ann received her B.S. in Family & Consumer Sciences Education from Western Kentucky University where she was awarded Outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences Education Student in 2005.
After being in a position which served 7 counties, Denise Wooley is looking forward to focusing her efforts on just one county. Denise is the new Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences in McCracken County. Most recently she worked as a Senior Health Educator for the Purchase District Health Department. Denise earned a Bachelor’s in Food Service Administration and Dietetics from Murray State University.
Ralph Hance, Trimble County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development, has worked at 4-H Camp for five summers as the instructor for rifle/archery and nature. He began his 4-H involvement as an active member in Henry County. Ralph has a B.S. in Bible with a minor in Youth & Family from Kentucky Christian University.
Alison Filippini, Oldham County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, has been working as a Montessori school teacher for the past seven years. Allison, who is originally from Oldham County, has a Bachelor’s in Family Studies from Western Michigan University.
Denise Peterson, Jefferson County Extension Agent for Urban Programs, is certainly not new to Extension. She has been working as a Horticulture Technician in Jefferson County for the past four years. Denise has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Special Education from University of Louisville.
Moving from being a classroom teacher to being involved in informal education as a 4-H Agent has been a welcome change for Carolyn Brammer. Carolyn is the new Wayne County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development. Besides being a teacher for 12 years, Carolyn has been involved with the youth of Wayne County in numerous volunteer roles. She has a B.S. in Early Elementary Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
Before becoming an agent, Stephanie Crum, Martin County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, had the chance to complete an internship with Brenda Cockerham, FCS Agent in Johnson County. Stephanie earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Morehead State University.
Katie Burris, Breckinridge County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, completed a B.S. in Dietetics and a M.S. in Public Health Education from Western Kentucky University. Katie recently did an internship with the Christian County Health Department where she conducted health education programs for the community.
For the last couple of years, Eric Comley has been a 4-H Assistant in the Fayette County Extension Office. He is still in the same office but now Eric serves as the Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development. He has had lots of involvement with 4-H camp, first as a camper, then a leader, and lastly serving as camp staff. Eric has a B.A. in English from Eastern Kentucky University where he is presently taking classes in Environmental Studies.
Rachel Hance, Logan County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, most recently taught Family and Consumer Sciences at Christian County High School. Rachel completed a Bachelor’s in Family and Consumer Science Education at Western Kentucky University. She is originally from Logan County.
Bonnie Baker, Crittenden County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development, has a B.S. in Agriculture and a M.S. in Agriculture from Murray State University. While attending Murray, she completed an internship with the Calloway County Extension Office. Most recently, Bonnie had been teaching agriculture at Spencer County Middle School.
Jason Phillips, Simpson County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources, finished his Bachelor’s in Agricultural Economics at the University of Kentucky in May, 2005. While at UK, Jason was active in Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Jason is pleased to be able to go back to Simpson County, where he grew up helping with his grandfather’s farming operation.
Jill Templeman, Grayson County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development, served as 4-H camp staff in 2002 and was an Extension Summer Intern in Todd County in 2003. Jill completed a B.S. in Agricultural Education at Western Kentucky University. While she was a student at WKU, she worked as a group leader for a community after school program.
Todd Powell is the new Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Calloway County. After completing a Bachelor’s in Agriculture at Murray State University, Todd worked at the newly formed nursery cooperative in Murray. Most recently he worked as a precision agriculture technician for Agri-Chem.
