Joyce Doyle, County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development in Grant County, started her career in Extension after retiring from the school system where her positions included being a high school principal. Prior to becoming an agent, Joyce worked for three years as a 4-H Assistant in Grant County. She has a B.S. in Health/Physical Education from Morehead State University and a M.S. in Secondary Education from Georgetown College.
Cathy Derry, County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development in Letcher County, comes to the agent position with two years of experience as a 4-H Assistant in Pike County and several years as a volunteer for youth programs in the community. Cathy has a Bachelor’s in History & Political Science from Pikeville College.
Lorilee George, has been working in Bullitt county for the last year as a Horticulture Assistant. She is now the first County Extension Agent for Horticulture in Bullitt County. Lorilee earned a B.S. in Agriculture with an emphasis in Horticulture from Murray State University. She also completed a horticultural internship with Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.
Bernita Cheirs, Fulton County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development, is glad to be living back in her home county. Bernita graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a minor in Youth Agency Administration. Previously, she had been working as a Youth Coordinator for the Purchase Area Development District.
Jeff Smith, County Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources in Fleming County, comes to Kentucky Extension after working as an Agriculture Agent in Tennessee for 15 years. Jeff has a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee, and a M.S. in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Adam Watson, County Extension Agent for Horticulture in Bourbon County, first worked for Extension as a summer intern in horticulture in Pulaski County. The following summer, before beginning his Master’s program, Adam served as an Extension intern in Bath County. Adam earned a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Kentucky and has nearly completed his Master’s in the same field of study.
Michael “Elijah” Wilson was first introduced to 4-H in Green County where he participated in 4-H activities. Most recently, he served as summer camp manager for the Lake Cumberland 4-H Camp. Elijah is the new County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development in Cumberland County. He has a B.S. in Recreation and Park Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and is nearing the completion of a M.S. in Public Administration.
Kevin Lindsay began his career with Extension as an intern in the Madison County Extension Office. Kevin first served as a 4-H Youth Development Agent in Davies County and later transferred to Fayette County. He left Extension to pursue other roles within the University and now Extension is pleased to have him back as the Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development in Fayette County. Kevin has a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Communications from Morehead State University.
Brandon “Scott” Darst, has joined the team of 4-H Youth Development Agents in Madison County. Most recently, Scott has been working with youth through his position as case manager for Lifeway for Youth and as a volunteer with teens at his church. Scott earned a B.S. in Child Development & Family Studies from Berea College.
