Education:
B.S. Natural Resources Conservation and Management, science option,
University of Kentucky, 2005
Academic Interests:
My academic interests focus on large mammal restoration and conservation. My current research project investigates elk-parasite interactions in the Kentucky elk herd, specifically “Meningeal worm (Parelaphostrongylus tenuis) infection rate and effects on survival of restored elk (Cervus elaphus nelsoni) in Kentucky.” Data gathered throughout this project also permit me to investigate elk home ranges, neonatal mortality rates, and demographic patterns.
Personal Interests:
I engage in a wide variety of outdoor activities, but I particularly enjoy consumptive hunting, fishing, small-scale animal husbandry/gardening, and hiking. In addition to these activities, I also take pleasure in playing the banjo and fiddle.
