Ohio River Valley Woodland and Wildlife Workshop

What a rewarding job...being a forester! You’re outside all day and you help landowners. However, most of us have not chosen that path, but we all enjoy the benefits a forester provides – improving and maintaining a healthy and profitable natural resource of timber, while protecting our water resources and providing for wildlife and outdoor recreation.

Logo As a manager of your woodland and wildlife property, it is important to obtain as much information as possible to make the correct long term, as well as short term decisions.

The Ohio River Valley Woodlands and Wildlife (ORVWW) Workshop to be held on March 15, is designed to provide YOU, the woodland and wildlife property owner, with forestry and wildlife related educational opportunities. Click here for a schedule of events.

This one-day workshop held at the Campbell County Extension Office
(click here for a map) will provide you with forestry and wildlife experts from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio who will address the questions and concerns that you have been confronted with in the management of your properties. Click here to view a brochure for registration, location and directions.

Everyone has a different approach as to how they manage their land. Many times during our management discussions we begin asking ourselves the question, “What‘s next?” By attending this workshop you will have the opportunity to also meet other woodland owners who have similar interests as you.

Make sure to come early and grab a cup of coffee, juice or tea and something for that sweet tooth as several resources will be available to you before the workshop begins.

How are your tree identification skills? Join us before the workshop by taking our on-line tree i.d. quiz by clicking here. Make sure to bring your answers with you. You make also take this quiz the day of the workshop with the actual specimens available.

Each participant will also go home with something to “plant for the future”.

The committee members from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio would like to take this time to invite you to attend this informative woodland and wildlife workshop.
