We are particularly interested in the investigations of disease outbreaks and encourage submission of those samples for testing at no charge. In the absence of a disease outbreak, for example for purposes of pre-export or post-import quarantine control, we charge $25.00 per sample tested. We test nasal swabs for equine influenza virus using rapid
Directigen Flu-A test (Becton Dickinson Corp) and testing
for virus growth in embryonated eggs. Occasionally, though
not routinely we test for equine influenza virus by PCR.
