Health Education through Extension Leadership (HEEL)
One of the HEEL program’s preeminent responsibilities is to facilitate the development and delivery of new health education programming and teaching materials to all Kentuckians. This means that program staff serve as liaisons, bringing resources and know-how from all university partners – along with that of national, state and local agencies – to County Extension Agents, and, subsequently, the populations these agents serve. A critical factor in this particular aspect of the program’s effectiveness is the ready availability of materials that can be used to teach Kentuckians how to take better care of themselves, and improve their overall health.
- Team Up Cancer Media Toolkit – Team Up: Cancer Screening Saves Lives is a national pilot program to increase cervical and breast screening among rarely and never screened women through evidence-based approaches. The over-arching theme of Team Up is partnership.
